7 1/2 lifelong learning habits -- a bit of self-reflection

#3, "view problems as challenges", has to be my easiest lifelong learning habit. Challenges appear in many forms and in many places in life, and I enjoy learning how to best solve these problems. Sometimes a solution isn't always immediately evident, but with some persistence and some problem solving skills, I find a way to work through the problem at hand.

#7, "teach/mentor others", probably has to be my most difficult lifelong learning habit. Often you feel like you have to be a bonafide expert or have a degree in an area to be an effective teacher or mentor. Sometimes it's easy to forget that when you show friends, family, and associates how to access and use library services (services that have become second-nature for us employees), you're teaching or mentoring them informally.
